Social isolation hasn’t been a big change for us as a family. Going to the library, church and co-op were really the only things that changed. I’m thankful for this time of even more social distance for many different reasons. I like our church and friends and family, but the slowed pace is a welcome gift to my creative side. So here is a poem. It’s a sonnet. Basically there a different types of sonnets. This follows an English or Shakespearian Sonnet rhyme scheme. I didn’t revise it enough to follow Shakespeare’s iambic pentameter, but maybe I will eventually.
Check back in Wednesday to see how I’ve used our recycling to make some visual art.
I challenge you to write your own poem with or without form, meter, and rhyme. Post your creative endeavors! Bomb our feeds with beauty and the creative gifts you have! (The sonnet rhyme scheme is abab cdcd efef gg)
