Upcycled? Recycled? Corrugated Cardboard. When you’re self isolating and it’s day number 27, you miss Target runs, eating out, and trips to the dog park and church. But most of all in the middle of April, you miss meandering through the rows of flowers, fruits, veggies and bags of mulch, manure, and garden soil at the closest garden center. If you cannot go get some plants, make your own! I’ve always loved window boxes and the three shoe boxes now emptied of their spring shoes, inspired me to make a container of some kind for the cardboard flowers. The left over cardboard packaging from my file cabinet sacrificed themselves for flowers.
I don’t have a name for this piece, but I love how it turned out. It’s very pop and cartoonish. So, when cropping and editing the photo, I added more creative detail by putting the moon from two nights ago behind it.
With all of the online orders, I know you’ve got some cardboard, too. What will you make?
